Daytona Beach Shores cops: Two pedestrians and biker and passenger injured in South Atlantic Avenue collision Saturday night
DAYTONA BEACH SHORES -- Two pedestrians who were crossing South Atlantic Avenue when they hesitated then continued trying to cross after reaching the median and were struck by a Harley-Davidson, resulting in critical injuries to them as well as the biker and a passenger Saturday night, Daytona Beach Shores police reported.
Sheriff's Office: Orange City woman, 42, struck and killed after stepping in front of car on poorly lit road early Saturday in DeBary
DEBARY -- A 42-year-old Orange City woman was struck and killed early Saturday after she sudenly stepped in front of a car on South Charles R. Beall Boulevard just a little south of its intersection with Dirksen Drive, a Volusia County Sheriff's spokesman said.
Sherrie Ann Morrison was pronounced dead at the scene of the 1:49 p.m. moments after stepping in front of a 2000 4-door BMW 528i, witnesses told responding deputies. No charges were filed against 41-year-old Corey Manuel of DeBary, who was uninjured and alone.
Princeton Review lists Stetson University Business School among nation's best
DELAND -- Stetson University's School of Business Administration has been named one of the nation's "Best 300 Business Schools" in a new guidebook released Tuesday by The Princeton Review.
The education services company compiles its guidebook of top business schools annually based on input from more than 19,000 students in Master of Business Administration programs accredited by AACSB International - the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, as well as statistical data received from the institutions.
Passenger traffic at Daytona Beach International Airport increases 46% in September over same month in 2009
DAYTONA BEACH -- Passenger traffic at Daytona Beach International Airport increased 46 percent in September, compared with September 2009.
Airport officials attributed September’s traffic surge to competitive fares and increased capacity being offered by the airport’s two principal air carriers -- Delta Air Lines and U.S Airways.
Cocaine seized during Deltona crime suppression operation
DELTONA -- A trafficking amount of cocaine was taken off the streets Monday by Volusia County Sheriff’s deputies during a special suppression operation targeting street crime in the Deltona area, an agency spokesman said.
