NSBNEWS.net and other members of the Southeast Volusia Chamber of Commerce received the following e-mail alert 4:35 p.m. Wednesday:
With deep sorrow we just received word that Mary Ellison has just passed away due to an unforeseen illness. Just recently retired, Mary was a seventeen year veteran at the Chamber of Commerce and one of the most delightful people to have ever graced our community. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family. Once we receive word of any funeral arrangements we will pass them along to you.
Respectfully,
Samantha Bishop

The chamber will stay at that location for at least a year until the historic chamber building on Canal Street is renovated and updated.
