SEVILLE -- Crews from Volusia County Water Resources and Utilities will shut off the water for all 63 homes in the New Hope Villas subdivision in Seville for about four hours beginning at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11, so they can replace a section of pipe on the subdivision’s water storage tank.
DELTONA -- The Deltona motorist killed just after New Year's Day in nearby Sanford has been identied by the Florida Highway Patrol as 53-year-old Owen Hurd.

He's been charged with attempted murder of his wife and first-degree murder of her friend, Keith "Shorty" Roberts of South Daytona, who was shot to death New Year's at the Rockin' Ranch as the victim and Pursley's wife tried to get away as he opened fire, according to Ormond Beach police.Editor's Note (added Jan. 6): A couple of friends who posted anonymously in the comment section below this story insist two of the Facebook photos are not as they appear on the surface -- that the one with the bloody knife was a Halloween costume and the cow in the photo further down was alive and being moved.
