An open letter to Congresswoman Kosmas on health care

Newspaper Section

You have again failed to listen to the voters of your district and chosen, in your vote Sunday night on the Health-care bill, to follow the lead of Speaker Pelosi and the Democratic Party. This health-care bill is a disaster and fiscally irresponsible for current and future generations of taxpayers. It will destroy the health care of my family and others that reside in your district and the nation as a whole.

Health-care passage a sad day for all of us

I was greatly saddened to witness the passing of President Obama’s health-care bill and by the fact that our own Suzanne Kosmas had given in and voted for it, along with the majority of the Democrats. I had hoped that I could be saying that the country owes Suzanne and other Democrats a great debt of gratitude for helping defeat one of the worst most destructive pieces of legislation ever to come out of Washington, but sadly that is not the case.

Why is this such a terrible bill? Let us count some of the ways.

Obama's health-care: Is it the right thing to do?

I have mixed emotions about President Obama's nationalized health-care plan that was approved Sunday night. There's no doubt our health-care system is broken, but having the government take it over is not the answer. Haven't we learned our lesson from all these bailouts with the banks and the auto industry? What's needed is reform -- major reform.

Let's face it: Throwing more money at the problem isn't going to make it any better. Both George W. Bush and Barack Obama are guilty of that. This health-care legislation will cost more than $960 billion over the next decade alone.

Anger: Six steps to successful management

We all know what anger is, and we’ve all felt it: whether as a fleeting annoyance or as full-fledged rage. Anger is a completely normal, usually healthy, human emotion. But when it gets out of control and turns destructive, it can lead to problems—problems at work, in your personal relationships, and in the overall quality of your life. And it can make you feel as though you’re at the mercy of an unpredictable and powerful emotion.
