Shrinking gas prices and bail-outs galore
It's hard to believe the news any more or maybe it's just that it is so depressing. For example, it turns out that nearly half the bail-out money for Wall Street is being re-directed. Makes you wonder if what's already been allotted was wasted.

'Cudas end football season with big win over DeLand at home -- 21-13
NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Quarterback A.J. Granger came back from a non-throwing bruised shoulder in the Homecoming game to lead the 'Cudas to victory over DeLand, 21-13, in the season finale with two running touchdowns in the second half.
And even as DeLand mounted a late rally with seconds left in the game, an interception by 'Cudas defensive back James Hill, his second of the contest, sealed playoff-bound DeLand's defeat to give New Smyrna Beach a 2-8 record for the season.
Perhaps, the DeLand coaching decision to hold out its starting quarterback and first-string runner to rest up for the playoffs was a factor. Regardless, it was the personnel on the field that counted and the 'Cudas made the most of their opportunities.

Bailout will not repair Detroit’s problems: The Big 3 need to restructure
The idea of bailing out the automakers is a bad one because it only delays the inevitable while bleeding the taxpayer. If the government simply gives the companies money the money will get spent and then they will need another bailout.
What Detroit needs is a restructuring.
'Cudas football memories made Friday night
The game was over and they cried. Two young men drenched in sweat and tears knelled on the football field -- perhaps for the final time, competitively. Maybe not. College, the pros? Who knows? But on this windy, Friday night under the bright lights and a full moon, these seniors cleansed their souls and went out winners.
Such is the purity of high school football. The atmosphere of pride, cheers and glory. But the 'Cudas players weren't the only ones to shed tears after the big win over playoff-bound DeLand, 21-13. Cheerleaders, Showdolls and the band rocked the night at New Smyrna Beach Municipal Stadium in front of the home faithful.
