Phoito for Headline Surfer® / BUNNELL, Fla. -- Michael Gerard Stavris II, a sergeant with the Bunnell police force who stands 6 foot 3 and weighs in excess of 400 pounds, was arrested on child solicitation charges March 25, 2014, allegedly passing himself of as a provacative under-age teen gal on Facebook to try and hook up with teen boys.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement charged the 30-year-old Palm Coast resident with two counts of computer pornography and child exploitation and one count of criminal use of personal identification information.
Acting on a tip, in December of 2013, FDLE agents began investigating allegations in December 2013, and soon thereafter gathered evidence they claim showed Stavris created a fraudulent Facebook account posing as a teenage girl.
The allegations against Stavris come in as No. 38 in the HeadlineSurfer.comm countdown of the top 100 local stories of 2014.

Using this fraudulent account, Stavris, a large man at 6 foo3 and weighing more than 400 pounds, allegedly solicited teenage boys under the guise of being a teenage gal.
After conversations turned sexual, Stavris requested sexual photos from the victims. the FDLE charged, carrying on the scheme for about a year, generating as many as 40 male friends under the age of 18 on the Facebook page, many of whom attend Flagler-Palm Coast High School, according to a charging affidavit.
Stavris was initially booked into the Flagler County Jail on a $125,000 bail, but has since posted bail.
Starvis -- who measures in at 6'3" and 400 pounds -- is accused of using the fake profile from November 2012 to November 2013 and on that page he had about 40 males under the age of 18 added as friends, many of whom attend Flagler Palm Coast High School, according to the arrest affidavit.
FDLE agents said Stavris enticed the teen boys to send images of their private parts or promises of engaging in oral sex after sending them images of female breasts he allegedly said were part of the assets of the female gal he pretended to be.
