ORLANDO -- No sooner had suspected killer James Holmes gunned down a dozen innocent lives in a Colorado movie theater at the midnight showing of a "The Dark Knight Rises," than a pernicious media turned it’s stale, rebarbative eye toward the issue of guns and cinema. Bodies were still warm.
ORMOND BEACH -- Okay, we’re back to guns again. A horrible scene in New York City on Friday left two dead, including the gunman, and nine others wounded. A man, distraught because he had been laid off, brought a gun to work and shot the vice president of the company in the head right outside the Empire State Building.
EDGEWATER -- Looking at the results of the recent primary election just confirmed what I had originally thought. The population keeps moaning about how things aren’t right, then they vote the same people into one office or another and expect change.
OAK HILL -- School starts Monday in Volusia County and Burns Sci-Tech. in Oak Hill will be ready! Their huge new building was dedicated Wednesday, Aug. 15, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
ORMOND BEACH -- You know Mitt Romney made the right pick for vice president because the liberal left is already going bananas trying to discredit and smear Paul Ryan.
NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- The Typical Story: Peter is a married, 35-year-old. His wife, Susan, is a sales rep., who spends several days each week on the road. Both report that their sex life was great until just a few years ago, and Peter is not sure what happened.

EDGEWATER -- With all of the presidential elections, 13 in all or 52 years to the present day starting with FDR in 1933, I have never witnessed the personal mud slinging of this year between President Obama and Republican nominee Mitt Romney.

To provide relief during this important time, the Florida Legislature is bringing back the Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday this year. I'm happy to have supported this legislation, which will save Florida families millions of dollars and provide a boost to our local economy.
ORMOND BEACH -- America’s collective heart has been broken again. A lunatic with a gun, and in this case several weapons, killed innocent people for no apparent reason. Three men died for their heroic acts in saving their girlfriends at the theater in Aurora, Colo., where “The Dark Knight Rises” was showing.
