12-year-old girl struck by car in DeBary
DEBARY -- A 12-year-old girl was struck by a car in DeBary Tuesday afternoon moments after stepping off of her school bus, the Volusia County Sheriff's Office said.

ORMOND BEACH -- A 2-year-old boy drowned Sunday evening in the family backyard pool near Ormond Beach, the Violusia County Sheriff's Office said.
The child's grandparents and uncle were doing yard work at the child's home while the mother was at work. They told deputies that the boy had been napping for a while when they went to check on him and discovered he was missing. A quick search led to finding him in the pool.

DAYTONA BEACH -- The Children and Families Advisory Board’s Request for Proposal Subcommittee will conduct a workshop for providers of disabilities services at 9 a.m. Tuesda in room 516-C of the Volusia County Health Department, 1845 Holsonback Drive.
DELAND -- Volusia County’s Purchasing and Contracts Division will hold two workshops in June for vendors wanting to learn more about how to do business with the county.
DAYTONA BEACH SHORES -- The body of a woman believed to be in her 40s was found Saturday morning on the beach near the Emilia Avenue approach, the Volusia County Sheriff's Office said.
DEBARY -- Investigators certainly wish there were more criminals like Matthew Hall, Volusia County Sheriff's spokesman Gary Davidson said of the accused man.
Davidson said that when the 26-year-old went into a vacant home in DeBary to steal an air conditioning unit, he left behind a major clue: His driver's license.
