DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Marching to the tune of "Pomp and Circumstance" once is stresful enough. Imagine doing it twice in two weeks. 

For New Smyrna Beach's Sammi Hicks it's been there, done that! She's not alone. More than 150 high school students graduated earlier this month from Daytona State College with associate degrees that will allow them to go directlly to most colleges as juniors.

New Smyrna Beach brush fire extinguished over the weekend, but statewide more than 100 fires burning

The 8.5-acre fire off Pioneer Trail and Jungle Road was fully contained by 4 p.m., Sunday, officials with the Florida Forest Service in Bunnell told Headline Surfer, adding there were no evacuations and no structures were threatened by the nearby flames.
