DEBARY -- Children ages 3 - 10 are invited to get a head-start on Halloween with “Frederick’s Freaky Fridays” in DeBary Hall Historic Site’s stables. Participants can make crafts, play games, and hear Halloween stories from 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. every Friday in October.

DELTONA -- A 22-year-old Deltona man is facing numerous criminal charges after child pornography was found Friday on the man’s computer. And the discovery by Volusia County Sheriff’s investigators may have prevented a 12-year-old girl from continuing to be victimized by the defendant, Chad Andersen, an agency spokesman said.

Sheriff's Office: Restaurant robbed near Ormond Beach

ORMOND BEACH -- The Volusia County Sheriff's Office is investigating an armed robbery of a fast food restaurant near Ormond Beach early Monday morning, an agency spokesman said.

Two employees were in the store after the lobby had closed when a man armed with a gun entered and demanded cash. There were no shots fired or any injuries. Deputies responded within 30 seconds of receiving the 911 call. Despite a thorough search with a K-9, the robber got away.

Sheriff's Office: Combative Ormond Beach man collapses after being tasered by deputy

ORMOND BEACH -- A combative, 30-year-old Ormond Beach man suffered a medical episode and collapsed Wednesday morning after a Volusia County Sheriff's deputy deployed his Taser to gain control of the man, an agency spokesman said.
